Abstract

The paper deals with various phenomena connected with human mind and activity. The necessity to define the essence of the emotional sphere and its role in personality formation and language acquisition is discussed. A. Damasio, one of the world’s leading neuroscientists, in his theory explains the role of emotion in the formation of consciousness and self as well as in the formation of culture. Emotional meaning of the word is seen as an integral feature of any word; it is formed in the person’s learning and growth in some specific cultural background.
